Dursley Hill Climb
Hup Hup HUp, the call rings out, even though due to Covid regulations there wasn't that many people on the hill supporting the riders.A test ride of the hill showed the tarmac to be dry and clear from debris, the sun was out and the temperature was cool, all good signs for a new course record. And the start sheet was a who's who in local hill climbing.
Sodbury fielded four riders but like all the other TT's at the moment there was no holder at the start and no catcher if you needed in at the end, and this hill is a lung buster. James Meaden was 9th with the cracking time, 5:14, Mike Lee snagged a big Pb and 16th with 5:21 and he was "super happy".
Next was James Harrison, he took 24th with 5:59, shortly follower by Chris Britten in 25th place in 6:02 2s from his Pb and heidi Blunden (racing for 73 degrees, westside coaching) took 36th with 7:57.
The big news was Andrew Feather broke his own course record and took 1st place with 4:20. Sodbury Cycle Sport also managed to take home the team prize, hopefully more of that to come in the next few races.
Sodbury Cycle Sport are holding the next event in Wotton-Under-Edge on the long and hard Rushmire hill. For more information WTTA hillclimb series
