After the fun of the club holiday came the Madness of summer cross, all the lung busting heart attack efforts of winter cross but with less mud and spills. Remember "if you haven't hit the deck in practice, your not going hard enough".
Round 8 found us at Locklease for the race run by Bristol CX, a fine evening and a great course found riders getting a bit more than hot under the collar in this one hour event, Jo Jago was racing in the women's event, Chris Britten male vet 40 and Imogen Sparrow in U12s.
Jo started the race hard and got into an early lead with a couple of strong riders and eventually came home to a fine 2nd place, Chris race again started hard and fast but Chris couldn't keep with the small group of quick lads and one sweaty hour later came home 5th in age group.
A big shout out to Imogen who brought Sodders the best result of the night in the U12's, 4th over all and 1st girl.
Round 10 of the summer series returned to Oldbury court, and a few more of the Sodbury wolf pack made it out. Jo Jago, Matt Reynolds, Sam Davis, Claire Lawrence and Imogen Sparrow donned the blue and set forth to battle.
Again another quick dry night (apart from the stream crossing) had Jo Jago back on the podium, this time a fine 3rd, Chris monstered around but in this large field only managed to get a well fought 7th in Vet 40s, Sam came home with 8th in Vet 50s, for some bizzar reason Matt is not listed on the results but the star in the making Imogen "fledgling" Sparrow came back with 4th over all in under 12s and 1st Girl.
