Big Race Round up

June 17, 2019

Loads have happened the last few weeks and to be honest I have been to busy to share it with you all but lets try and have a round up.

Tuesday 28th May we headed back to our local TT, 5 Sodders lined up and the course was back to it's full distance.  Matt Norris came 17th with 31:51, Mark Pinker 11th with 30:20, Jo Jago 1st woman and 9th overall with 29:57, Jeremy Tiley 7th with 29:24 and Matt Reynolds 6th with 29:13.

Saturday 1st of June was this years tour of Cambridge Chrono, the only chance in the UK for people to quality for the UCI amature world TT championships,  Jo Jago, Lee Aston and Darren Pitman put their names in the hat for this one, the weather had taken a turn for the better and a few scores had to be settled.  Jo Jago last year came 3rd and this year again the came home with the goods, another 3rd place and a course PB with 41:54, Lee Aston took the round about the right way this year and finished in 12th place while Darren Pitman took home 42nd in a time off.

Matthew Norris and Paul Derrick took part in the GCC 10 mile TT on the U7b, after forgetting his shoes he sorted his head out Matt had a good run and claimed a course and personal PB time with 25:14 and Paul came 7th with 22:25.

Sunday 2nd of June was time for the TOC race and sportives,  Chris Britten and Matt Reynolds turned up for the 100 mile road race, Chris Started of well keeping with the lead group until 35 miles in when the broken ribs he suffered in a crash the week before became to painful for him to continue.  In Matt's race things went better, on this warm but windy day cramp was still an issue, and half way though it started to be a problem.  Matt finished in 67th place with a time of 4:35:34.

On the 9th of June Matt was trying his hand in cyclo cross at Dat Rad Kross in Netham Park, even after a spill he managed 4th place in his age group.

Jeremy Tiley has also been back out in the world of triathlon, a 750 m swim, 60 mile bike ride and finished with a 13.1 mile run, all in 5h 58m, 65th of 274 and 24th in age group.

Well done all, if you have been competing
